“He shook his head and pulled me into his chest, squeezing me, lifting me up into him like he planned to absorb me. “I love you,” he said, and kissed my head. “And if you want, we can die alone together.”
I wish I could bottle this book and wear it as a perfume. Emily Henry’s novel speaks to me (IYKYK). I loved Beach Read but I am besotted with People We Meet On Vacation!
Years of undying love, occasional jealousy, missed opportunities, bad timing, other relationships, building tension, a fight and the silence afterward, and the pain of living life without Alex. Poppy and Alex have gotten over their friend breakup, but the more they talk, the more they miss each other. Alex is a cinnamon roll! He’s got this lovable grandpa side that’s super endearing. He makes Poppy feel known, loved, wholly accepted. And she is hysterical! Like ROTFL. My heart flutters happily over Poppy & Alex! I cried. (What’s new?)
